[28/06, 16:48] sekarreporter1: The Madurai bench of the Madras High Court has issued a historic order quashing the Tamil Nadu government’s Gazzette, notification granting a caste certificate to a person who converted to Islam from another religion.
I see this judgment as a Dignity to the Islamic religion by the Hon’ble Madras High Court.
Sir, I too converted to Islam in 2004. I cannot come here and claim my father’s Mudhaliar-BC Quota or my mother’s-Adhi Dravidar SC Quota. The reason is that there is no difference and discrimination in caste, ethnicity or language in the Islamic religion. It is everyone’s right to have a name based on their profession, but asking for caste identification while being a Muslim is completely against the concept of Islam. All are equal is the main theme of Islam.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) built an egalitarian society where *there is only one God and everyone is equal before Him.*
