He also assured before this Court that disposal of OPT-ISD applications will be continuously reviewed and expedited in order to clear the maximum number of applications with the current man power and to that extent, further report will be filed on the next hearing date.   1. In addition to the aforesaid status report, they have produced a statement showing the pendency of the applications in each District.
  2. Further, it is brought to the notice of this Court that the Cadre strength position in Survey and Land Records Department is not sufficient and 70% of the post of Field Assistants and 40% of the post of Field Surveyors are still vacant. Therefore, the learned Additional Advocate General is directed to file a report with regard to the filling up of the above said vacancies in the Survey and Land Records Department, so as to take steps to clear all these pending applications.
  3. According to the statement of the respondents, 40,000 patta applications are pending as on December 2020 and fresh applications have also been filed at the rate of 1.18 laks applications per month. Therefore, including the fresh applications, as of now 6,62,330 patta applications are pending before the concerned authorities.
  4. The Additional Director of Survey and Land Records assured before this Court that all efforts will be taken by the respondents Department to dispose of all the pending applications and he seeks three months time to clear all the above backlog applications.
