Election for the office bearers to THE INDIAN OVERSEAS BANK OTHER BACKWARD CLASS OFFICERS AND AWARD STAFF WELFARE ASSOCIATION scheduled to be held at Madurai on 26th & 27th June of 2026 whereof disgruntled member filed a suit before XII Assistant Civil Court Chennai and sought for injunction not to hold election which came up on 25.06.2026 wherein R.Thirumoorthy counsel for THE INDIAN OVERSEAS BANK OTHER BACKWARD CLASS OFFICERS AND AWARD STAFF WELFARE ASSOCIATION appeared and argued injunction should not be granted and the suit is motivated one. After hearing the arguments XII Assistant Civil court Chennai judge ordered notice declined o grant injunction and post the matter for filing counter on 01.07.2026. Aggrieved over the same urgent mentioning made before the Hon’ble High Court whereof Hon’ble Justice Abdul Quddhose agreed to hear the matter today on 27.06.2026 at 10.30. The matter was heard wherein R. THIRUMOORTHY counsel for THE INDIAN OVERSEAS BANK OTHER BACKWARD CLASS OFFICERS AND AWARD STAFF WELFARE ASSOCIATION and raised preliminary objection for maintainability of Civil Revision Petition and further made submissions that the suit has been instituted in the 11th hour and all the arrangements have been made. The delegates from the various states in India have reached Madurai and election cannot be stalled at this stage. Once election process started which should not be stayed as per the judgements of supreme court and High courts. After hearing the matter Hon’ble Judge dismissed the civil revision petition.
