: A new case has been filed in the #MadrasHighCourt complaining about encroachments on the Marina beach loop road in Chennai. The court had taken suo motu notice of the issue in 2023 and passed certain orders leading to an uproar among fishermen families who claimed a right over the road. The present petition by M. Anand, a resident of Nochikuppam, seeks to remove all illegal encroachments, unauthorized restaurants, food stalls and commercial establishments that had sprung up once again obstructing the Loop Road stretch from Lighthouse to Pattinapakkam/ Foreshore Estate. The case has been listed for hearing before Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice G. Arul Murugan today. @THChennai
