Justices J.K. Maheshwari and Atul S. Chandurkar of the SUPREME COURT could NOT hear today a case filed by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam #TVK and a few others regarding the investigation into the KARUR STAMPEDE TRAGEDY. It was in this case that the court had on October 13, 2025 ordered a CBI probe into the tragedy under the supervision of its retired judge Ajay Rastogi and ordered submission of monthly progress reports. Though the case was listed before the Bench today, it did not reach until the judges retired to their chambers at 4 pm since there were many other cases that had to be taken up for final hearing.
