We had in fact required the Commissioner, Chennai Corporation to appear in Court today at 10.30 a.m, since we find that the Law Enforcing Agency viz., Chennai Corporation is not satisfactorily performing its duties and allows persons to violate the planning permission with impunity.

Hon’ble Justice R. Suresh Kumar. J was the Electoral officer appointment was not in a transparent manner as well as the Election officer had bad antecedents while he was a state Election Commissioner in 2006 the same was reported in 2007 (1) CTC 705. Another ground is one of the presidential candidates is Mr. Ashok sigamani s/o. Dr. Ponmudi name was not found on the Eligible voter list. Hence, acceptance of his nomination was illegal. Yet another ground is 187 full members are there. However, the Election officer published eligible voters as only 155 members. It is illegal. After hearing the arguments of the petitioner’s side as well as the respondent’s Hon’ble Court passed an interim order to Let the election go on. Declare the result if the election is proper. However, the result will be subject to the outcome of the Pending Writ petition. on behalf of the petitioner in W. P. No. 29306/2022, Mr. G. Murugendran for M. Jothi Kumar for Respondents senior counsel P. R. Raman and V. Ramesh appeared.
