[11/19, 12:57] Sekarreporter 1: Today, the petition filed by the Bar Council of Tamilnadu and Puducherry for a direction came up before Honble Mr. Justice T. Ravindran. Senior Advocate Mr. S.Prabakaran argued that the present direction petition seeking direction against former Judge Mr. C.S.Karnan to register a criminal case Ô⊃against him for scandalizing, vulgarity, degrading, crimininal intimidation, threat to life and making sexual remarks against judges and wives of the judges of high courts and the Supreme Court. Hence, the case is very serious in nature and it cannot deal with as other matters. Even after the division bench orders of this court the convicted person Mr. Karnan continuously indulging in same activity after 10.11.2020. So, each and everyday the accused person is committing crimes one after another. The Senior advocate Mr.Prabakaran further argued that suppose a person commits 10 murders in different dates can the police authority say one FIR is enough. So, the law enforcing agency shall register different cases for each and every crime. In the suo motu contempt case, the Hon’ble Supreme Court in its specific direction issued by the 7- judge bench stated that the convicted person C.S. Karnan should not issue any kind of press statement or in any other electronic media and the same should not be published. And the Hon’ble Supreme Court has already convicted Mr. Karnan for six month’s imprisonment and he served the sentence in full. Even after his conviction there is no change in the conduct of the former judge C.S Karnan. He repeat the same activity viluperative practice of using the vugar language to the core. The Hon’ble Mr Justice Rabindran said in the court that the matter has already been seized by the division bench of the Madras High Court. Moreover the Hon’ble Judge said I agree with your agreement, contention and I am not saying anything. Therefore I just transferring the matter to the division bench. The Addl public prosecutor Mrs. M. Prbhavathi stated in the court that earlier we registered one FIR, so we will file status report and we require 4 weeks time. The Senior advocate Mr. Prabakaran said the former judge C.S. Karnan must be arrested because he has committed a serious crime since all are equal before law and there is no special previlege for him and further said it is very unfortunate that every day one cause of action and continuing of committing the crime by the accused person Mr. C.S.Karnan but the law enforcing agency remains as a mere spectator in this matter which is very painful. Senior Advocate Mr. S.Prabakaram said anyhow, we will argue the matter once the case has been transferred to the division bench. The Hon’ble.Mr Justice T. Ravindran said he would pass orders in this regard.
