Suriya and Karthi's film producer KE Gnanavelraja issues clarification regarding money laundering case
Popular Tamil cinema producer KE Gnanavelraja has backed many films of actor Suriya and Karthi over the years and has also distributed films across regions under his banner that has become one of the biggest in the film industry. He last produced the Arya, Indhuja, and Mahima Nambiar starrer ‘Magamuni‘, which received a positive response from the audience. Now, according to the latest reports, producer KE Gnanavelraja was reportedly summoned by the Ramanathapuram Police in relation to a money laundering case.

The Ramanathapuram Police filed a case against Neethimani, Menaka, and Anand for allegedly ‘cheating’ a financial institution to the tune of Rs 3 crore. The police even sent a summon to producer KE Gnanavelraja to investigate the matter.

It was reported that KE Gnanavelraja filed a petition in the High Court Madurai branch seeking an anticipatory bail to avoid arrest. In the petition, he allegedly said that his production had been contracted for Rs 6.25 crore for the rights of ‘Magamuni’, but his name was wrongly quoted by police with Neethimani in a money laundering complaint. Following this, the judge has ordered an interim restraining order against the arrest of the producer till the 14th of August.

A few weeks ago, he released an official press statement that his name has been linked to the complaint filed by Thulasi Manikandan against Neethimani. So, false news spreading in the media has made it look like he has committed financial fraud.
