[20/09, 15:14] Sekarreporter: I condemn these kind of ill informed, half witted opinions. The ‘single biggest roadblock’ to India’s economic progress is the BJP Government, its bureaucracy and advisors.
If the entire Government machinery is run with the single aim of selling national assets and allotting valuable natural resources to two corporate houses, how will the economy progress?
If the finance ministry is busy using its investigative bodies like ED to hound political opponents, where do they have time to do their actual jobs? They don’t listen to the cries of Indian industry to help with ease of doing business. The layers of bureaucratic red tape and tax terrorism is still intact – these are the real roadblocks.
You talk of pendency in judiciary – does Mr Sanjeev Sanyal know about the judge to population ratio in India? Our judges are overloaded, overworked and under staffed and underpaid. Has Mr Sanyal visited district and munsif courts in some States where there is no electricity, computers or even basic amenities let alone court staff? If you want performance of the judiciary on par with developed countries, invest in infrastructure, create most judicial positions, attract top talent for judiciary through decent pay and security of tenure.
Instead, the Modi Government is sitting on collegium recommendations for years together, leaving large vacancies in High Couts and punishing honest judges with transfers.
He says mediation has failed – but has the central government invested in creating the necessary infrastructure, training mediators to have effective mediation?
Mr Sanyal should do his job and advice the PM on these aspects instead of silly diatribes against the only public institution in this country that has managed to retain public faith.
