- BREAKING Tamil Nadu’s Advocate General Vijay Narayan informs #MadrasHighCourt Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice G. Arul Murugan that DVAC has registered a FIR today with respect to the cash for jobs complaint in the Municipal Administration and Water Supply department during K.N. Nehru’s tenure. Chief Justice wonders how can the FIR be registered when the previous Advocate General P.S. Raman had given an undertaking to the court, during the hearing of a contempt plea, that no coercive action will be taken till the next hearing. Arul Murugan permit a litigant to withdraw a public interest litigation petition seeking a direction to the Union Home Ministry and the Tamil Nadu government to condemn the relegation of ‘Tamil Thai Vazhthu’ to the third position, after the playing of the national song and the national anthem, during Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s swearing-in ceremony in Chennai on May 10, 2026. Judges grant liberty to the petitioner Ananya Radhakrishnan of Chennai to instead challenge Centre’s circular related to events attended by the Governor. @THChennai
- Justice V. Lakshminarayanan of #MadrasHighCourt orders that private omnibuses can enter Chennai city but they should not be parked in any public place as they please. The buses must be parked only in private premises belonging to the bus owners, the judge orders while disposing of a writ petition filed by All Omni Bus Owners Association in 2024 to permit their members to pick up and drop the passengers at the Koyambedu bus terminus too in addition to the then newly constructed Kilambakkam bus terminus. @THChennai Backgrounder👇
