Justices P. Velmurugan and M. Jothiraman of #MadrasHighCourt to pass final orders this afternoon on a writ petition and a habeas corpus petition filed by Savukku Shankar’s mother in December 2025 when he was imprisoned in connection with an extortion case. Another Division Bench led by Justice S.M. Subramaniam had granted him conditional interim bail in the case in December and subsequently, the Bench led by Justice Velmurugan had in January imposed additional conditions including a gag order.
