Shri. G. Natarajan, Senior Partner of the leading Tax law firm Swamy Associates has resigned from Swamy Associates effective from 1st April 2022 and started his independent practice under the name and style of “G N Law Associates”. For the time being G N Law Associates will have its office in Chennai. G Natarajan, who served in the Central Excise Department for 10 years, has been in practice since 2003. Known for his erudite writings and lectures in the domain of indirect taxes, G Natarajan was behind several important decisions of various judicial forums. To cite a few, he was part of the battery of lawyers who argued the landmark VKC Footsteps case (inverted rate structure refund) and in the Ocean Freight matter, in the Hon’ble Supreme Court recently. He successfully argued before the Hon’ble Madras High Court in the matter of exemption from GST for residential welfare associations.
