1. The Bar Council of Tamilnadu and Puducherry has taken note of the fact
that an alleged unpleasant situation had occurred in and around the premises
of the Bar Council of Tamilnadu and Puducherry on 07.10.2025, which was
caused by two Advocates namely Mr. S.P.M. Rajiv Gandhi, (Ms. 357/2014) and
Mr. T. Chandramohan (Ms. 3182/2009), along with few others, as they had
entered into an altercation and scuffle, which had resulted in affecting the dignity
and nobility of the noble profession.
2. The State Bar Council being one of the Statutory functionary to protect
the nobility of the legal profession, it is the duty of the State Bar Council to ascertain
the situation and inquire into the incident that took place on 07.10.2025.
3. The Bar Council further take cognizance of the fact that the said
unpleasant incident has caused unrest among the Members of the Bar and the
same has raised several question in the minds of the Members of the Bar. Further,

the said incident has also led to protests, by Members of the Bar, causing unrest
among them and also, affected the unity of the Members of the Bar.
4. Hence, to give a quietus to the present issue and to ascertain and inquire
into the alleged incident occurred on 07.10.2025, the Council deems it fit to
appoint Special Committee comprising of the Members of the Bar Council
namely Mr. R. Arunachallam, Co-Chairman, Bar Council and
Mr. D. Saravanan, Co-Chairman, Bar Council, to inquire into the incident and to
furnish its report to the General Council of the Bar Council of Tamilnadu and
Puducherry within a period of 2 weeks from today.
5. It is made clear that the Office of the Bar Council shall provide its fullest
assistance to the Committee for completing the enquiry.
6. Further, in view of the constitution of the Special Committee by the Bar
Council of Tamilnadu and Puduchery, all the Members of the Bar and Legal
fraternity, are requested to refrain from abstaining the Court proceedings or
causing any hindrance or interference to the Administration of Justice.
