- Justice Swaminathan says, his Bench intends to pass orders on the HCP on Friday. He asks whether Mr. Arun wants to say something. Mr. Arun says, the detainee (a realtor) had been accused of forging signatures of the complainant. Justice Swaminathan says, the question is whether the invocation of the Goondas Act is justified. The judge says the court has also been following the track record of Mr. Arun in invoking preventive detention law. - Justices G.R. Swaminathan and V. Lakshminarayanan of #MadrasHighCourt commence hearing the case related to Director of Vigilance and Anti Corruption V. Arun after a second pass over. Government Counsel (criminal side) R. John Sathyan is arguing on behalf of the IPS officer. Judges say the detainee may not be a paragon of virtue but the point is whether the detention order passed by the IPS officer is right or not.
