The Madras High Court has directed the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) to conduct surprise checks in Metro trains to ensure priority seating for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PwDs). The court also instructed CMRL to take immediate action if it receives complaints about denial of priority seating.
