[1/22, 12:59] Sekarreporter1: “Students and Soil” is a project initiated by the Department of B.B.A. to promote agripreneurship among
students. It was spearheaded under the guidance of Dr. Santhosh Baboo, Principal and leadership of Prof J.P
Jaideep, Project Director & Head- BBA; Dr. K.Rao Prashanth Jyoty, Project Head & Asst.Prof with Mr. R.
Nithish Kumar, II BBA, Project Coordinator. The Department leased a land area of 3600 sq.ft. in Devamppatu
near Gummidipoondi for the project. A team of 20 students and 5 faculties went to the village and activities
such as Crop Selection, Land Preparation, Ploughing, Crop Sowing, Irrigation was performed from 18.01.2021
to 20.01.2021 in Phase I. The farming activities will be realized in 90 days and the yield will be branded &
marketed by the project team. The aim of the project is to make the students understand the value of farming
and transform business entrepreneurs as AGRIPRENURS. The project inculcates the art of farming and
provides an experience of being a young Agripreneur.
