l . The Tamil Nadu Advocates Association, with much grief, expresses its deep regret and anguish over the recent untoward incident that happened today, i.e., 06.10.2025, at the Hon’ ble Chief Justice’s Court of the Hon’ ble Supreme Court of India.

2.  We strongly condemn the disdainful act of an advocate indulging in disrespectful activity against the office of the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India. It is shocking to note that a brazen attempt has been made to degrade the majesty of the judicial institution.

3.  Our Association and the members of the Bar of the State of Tamil Nadu are deeply shocked by the act of a disgruntled advocate who hurled a shoe at the Hon’ ble Chief Justice of India during the judicial hours of the Hon’ ble Supreme Court. This act has deeply affected the members of the Bar, and the said incident is a clear case of aggression and

President disrespect to the Hon’ ble Office of the Chief Justice of India and the entire judicial institution.

4.    The legal fraternity and the judicial institution are the protectors of the Constitution, and it is the duty of every individual to show the utmost respect to the offices of the judicial institution. However, the recent untoward incident that occurred during the judicial hours of the Hon’ ble Supreme Court within the precincts of the Hon’ ble Chief Justice’s Court has undermined the majesty of this judicial institution, and the said unruly element who has indulged in SUCh unwarranted and deeply disrespectful act cannot be left scot-free and must be made to face the consequences of his actions as per the law.

5.    Our Association and the Members of the Bar, in unequivocal terms, strongly condemn the said disrespectful act, and we, the members of the Bar, strongly stand in solidarity with the Hon’ ble Chief Justice of India Mr. B.R. Bar of the State of Tamil Nadu call upon the judicial institution to initiate appropriate action against the said unruly and disgruntled lawyer for his malignant act against the majesty of the judicial institution, and we further call upon the Bar Council of India to initiate appropriate disciplinary action against the said unruly lawyer, as the said disrespectful act committed by him is a clear case of unbecoming conduct of a lawyer and is against the fundamental objectives of the Advocates Act, 1961 .

6. Our Association and the members of the Bar once again reaffirm their unwavering commitment towards the judicial institution, and we request all the members of the Bar to strongly stand in solidarity with the judicial institution and the majesty it stands for.
