Today hon ble first bench heard ARL Sunderasan ASG assisted by P.Sidharthan retainer counsel and Spl PP for ED cases and ordered notice returnable by 3 and granted interim order in form of status quo till then
[29/06, 12:54] sekarreporter1: [29/06, 12:49] sekarreporter1: 18 properties were attached by the ED. The same was confirmed by the Adjudicating Authority under Sec 8 of PMLA. The appellate tribunal erroneously set aside the attachment in respect of 17 properties. The finding by the appellate tribunal that ED cannot attach the properties already attached by DVAC and properties mortgaged with Banks is erroneous. ED is entitled to attach all the properties identified as proceeds of crime. If the attachment is lifted the properties will be alienated by Anita Radhakrishnan and his family members. Hence the order of the Appellate Tribunal should be stayed.

The Bench was pleased to grant an order directing status quo to be maintained. As such the respondents cannot deal with the properties pending the appeal in the High Court
