Case booked against TVK general secretary Anand and a few others in Tiruchi

The Airport Police here on Monday registered a case against Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam general secretary N. Anand and a few others for causing hindrance to public and traffic in front of a temple along the Pudukottai-Tiruchi highway near the airport on Saturday.
The police said Mr. Anand arrived from Chennai by flight to Tiruchi on Saturday and the convoy of vehicles stopped in front of a temple along the highway causing hindrance to public and vehicular movements ahead of presenting a petition to the city police authorities seeking permission for the proposed meeting of the party leader and actor Vijay in Tiruchi.
Sources said the party members accompanying Mr. Anand not only came in a convoy of vehicles without permission but also assembled on the road side and allegedly prevented the police from discharging their duty besides disobeying them. The complaint was lodged by a Special Sub-Inspector of Police of the Airport police station, the sources added.
