The Hon’ble Madras High Court closely examined the Election Commission of India’s authority to “delist” registered political parties, raising significant constitutional questions about the absence of explicit statutory backing for such power and its implications for political participation and democratic freedoms.

Sathish Kumar of JSK Film Corporation had forged the phone call records of film financier Gagan Bothra, a judicial magistrate and that of a court staff or did he genuinely obtain the Call Details Record (CDR) from the telecom companies concerned. Directs police to complete the inquiry within a month and file a report before the court by February 26, 2026
