I am an Advocate by profession and I am in politics for the last 31 years. I am. presently the Councillor of Division-12, Zone-1, Greater Chennai Corporation. I belong to the DMK party, which is the principal opposition party in the State Legislative Assembly and the majority party insofar as the Greater Chennai Corporation is concerned. I am holding the post of Headquarters Advocate in the DMK party. 2. I state that the menace of drugs in Tamil Nadu cannot be denied. In 2024, Tamil Nadu lost 313 persons to drug overdose, the highest in the country and about 30% of the total deaths in India. Under the previous DMK Government, many programmes and measures were launched to curb the menace of drugs and protect the future of the youth of the State.
