[09/11, 11:14] Sekarreporter: Madras High Court SLAMS Religious Monopoly Over Public Land!
In a powerful and hard-hitting verdict, Justice G.R. Swaminathan of the Madras High Court (Madurai Bench) has reminded India that secularism cannot mean surrender.
A Hindu villager had to seek permission to perform Annadhanam (food offering) on government land — simply because it was “traditionally used” by Christians for Easter events.
But the Court asked — how can government land belong to one religion?
In a stunning judgment, the Court declared that no religious community can monopolize public land, reaffirming the constitutional rights of every citizen under Articles 15 and 25.
Justice Swaminathan’s words struck a deeper chord:
“When the land belongs to the Government, it should be available to all sections, irrespective of religion or community.”
This case, K. Rajamani v. The Joint Commissioner & Others (2025), has now become a landmark in the ongoing debate over temple control, religious freedom, and the treatment of Hindu faith in public life.
Watch this video for a hard-hitting breakdown of what the judgment truly means —
• Why Hindus had to seek permission on their own soil ⚖
• How the Court exposed selective secularism 🙏
• The growing debate on government control over temples ⛩
• And what this verdict means as we approach the Ram Janmabhoomi verdict anniversary 🕉
Because this case isn’t just about one temple in Dindigul —
It’s about reclaiming the right to practice faith freely and fearlessly in the land of Dharma. 🇮🇳
