திராவிட முன்னேற்றக் கழகத் தலைவரும் தமிழக எதிர்க்கட்சி தலைவருமான மாண்புமிகு தளபதி மு. க. ஸ்டாலின் அவர்களுக்கு எதிராக ஆளும் அதிமுக அரசு அரசியல் காழ்ப்புணர்ச்சியின் காரணமாக தாக்கல் செய்த அவதூறு வழக்குகள் இன்று சட்டமன்ற நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர்களுக்கான வழக்குகளை விசாரிக்கும் சிறப்பு நீதிமன்றத்தில் விசாரணைக்கு வந்தது.

W.P.No.574 of 2015 (Suo-Motu, PIL) was mentioned by Senior Counsel R.Singaravelan before the Specially Constituted Division Bench comprising of Hon’ble Mr.Justice R.Mahadevan and Hon’ble Mr. Justice P.D.Audikesavalu and submitted his Written Brief on behalf of the Anuhhur Kamatchi Amman Sametha Ehambareshwara Sami Temple. In his submission he touched upon various provisions of the HR&CE Act, 1959 which empowers the Commissioner to interfere in Affairs of the Religious Institutions, Agamas and Rituals of the Temple. Those sections are against the Preamble and Arts. 25 and 26 of the Constitution of India which need to be read down to bring into the line with the demand of the Constitution and various judicial pronouncements of the Hon’ble Apex Court.

Today the Hon’ble CJ and Hon’ble Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy appointed Hon’ble Justice Authinathan and one IGP as a committee to investigate allegations of widespread malpractice and copying in the online selection exam held to the post of computer instructors in 2019. Earlier Single Judge Hon’ble Justice R. Parthiban had restricted the scope of the committee to three centres alone. The Hon’ble CJ bench empowered them to summon CCTV footage and also speak to the candidates.
