M/s.B.R.Constructions, No.133, NH45, GST Road, Vallanchery, Guduvanchery –
603 202, is suo motu impleaded as the sixth respondent in this writ petition.
2. Mr.U.Bharanidharan, learned Government Advocate takes notice on behalf of respondents 1, 2, 4 and 5. Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned Government Advocate takes notice on behalf of the third respondent. Notice to the sixth respondent returnable
by two weeks. Private notice is also permitted.
3. This is an unfortunate case where the son of the petitioner, who was working as a driver in a private company, on his way back home, fell into a pit which was dug up by the Highways Department for construction of a bridge. This work seems to have been handed over to the impleaded sixth respondent and no
precautions were taken to inform the road users about the work being carried out. Therefore, the son of the petitioner, who was travelling in a two-wheeler on 01.07.2021 at about 7.00 P.M., fell into the 15 feet deep pit. The materials placed on
record shows that he has lost his consciousness and he is in coma stage.
4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, the
following interim directions are issued by this Court.

a) There shall be a direction to the first respondent to provide medical treatment to the petitioner’s son in the fourth respondent Multi Speciality Hospital till he completely recovers.
b) There shall be a direction to the sixth respondent to pay an interim compensation of Rs.2,50,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Fifty Thousand Only) to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, and
c) The third respondent viz., the Block Development Officer shall inform the impleaded sixth respondent about the interim compensation awarded by this Court and it shall be ensured that it is paid to the petitioner within the time stipulated by this Court.
5. Post this case under the caption “For Reporting Compliance” on 27.10.2021.
