Pallikaranai marshland case admk case and Arapore iyakam case dismissed

BREAKING: #MadrasHighCourt Chief Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava and Justice G. Arul Murugan say they cannot hear public interest litigation petitions filed by advocate J. Brezhnev of AIADMK and Arappor Iyakkam against construction of residential high rise towers by Brigade Enterprises Limited on a land alleged to be falling within the prohibited zone of Pallikaranai marshland which had been designated as a Ramsar wetland site. Say, the High Court cannot conduct parallel proceedings when the Supreme Court was already hearing a case related to protection of wetlands across the country and had called for reports from all State governments. Judges say the two litigants can approach the top court.
