[10/13, 18:03] Vaidyanathan Advt: The case for removal of encroachments and restoration of chitlapakkam lake was taken up on 8 th Oct. as directed in the last hearing the PWD and revenue department had identified 374 encroachments and issued show cause notices. However the court was not satisfied vas photos were not submitted and the petitioner had submitted that there could be more encroachments on the lake area. The court has directed the RDO Tambaram to file and affidavit with full details of patta issued in the survey number 256 and it’s subdivisions along with photos, by the next date of hearing failing which the RDO must be present in court.

The third respondent-State has filed a status report signed
by Mr.R.Ramesh, Executive Engineer, Water Resources Department
(WRD) of Public Works Department, Kancheepuram.
2.The said report is not complete in all respects as the
learned counsel for the petitioner raised a grievance that the State has
issued even some pattas on the lake area in S.No.256/1 and other allied
Survey Numbers which were earlier included in the lake area in
S.No.256/1 after sub-division. He further submitted that the Site
Photographs as directed by this Court in the order dated 08.09.2020 also
have not been furnished with the said report. He also urged that the area
of about 50 acres of S.No.256/1 of Chitlapakkam Village, the
respondents have stated that only 374 encroachments were made whereas
the actual encroachers were much more.
