The case of the petitioners is that he was Chairman of Federation of
Tamil Nadu Power Loom Weavers Co-operative Societies and he is incharge of
manufacturing Free Dhoties and Sarees for the Government of Tamil Nadu.
According to the petitioner, the Director of Handloom and Textiles is in charge
of procurement of yarns for manufacturing of such free dhoties and sarees. But
however, since poor quality yarn was procured, the weavers were not able to
do the work efficiently, which caused loss to the weavers. According to the
petitioners the authorities, colluded with the contractors for personal gain and
by getting illegal gratification, procured poor quality materials at a higher
price than the market and misappropriated the money. Therefore, the
petitioner filed a complaint to the respondent on 04.11.2019, requesting to
take action under Prevention of Corruption Act, but the same was not
