The bench, however, clarified that a special officer appointed by the Tamil Nadu government shall administer the day-to-day affairs of the association.
The issue pertains to a batch of pleas moved by members of the association alleging irregularities in the election including preparation of the voters list.
On January 24, a single judge of the court declared the already concluded election as null and void.
The single judge also appointed retired judge of the high court Justice B Gokul Dass as election officer to conduct a fresh election to the sangam within three months.
This apart, the single judge dismissed the pleas moved by current office-bearers of the sangam — actors Vishal, Karthi
and Nassar — challenging the appointment of a special officer to administer day-to-day affairs of the association.
