Justices G.R. Swaminathan and V. Lakshminarayanan of #MadrasHighCourt have directed the Chennai District Election Officer (Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner) to furnish certified copies of Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni MLA Udhayanidhi Stalin’s accepted as well as rejected nomination papers and affidavits to defeated candidate P. Milany so that the latter can file an election petition challenging the victory of the returned candidate. The judges rejected the contention of the Election Commission of India counsel that the documents could be furnished only after 45 days, the period within which the election petition had to be filed. @THChennai
