Lakshminarayanan had asked the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) to monitor the admission process of these doctors, further specifying that after completing their super-speciality courses, these doctors would report to DME to get bond service posting orders and complete their bond service term.

Accordingly, dismissing the petitions, the bench observed, “In view of the above directions, this Writ Petitions are disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions stand closed. However, it is made clear that if in case the petitioners are not allotted with any seats, then the petitioners shall report before the respondents so as to comply the impugned posting orders within two (2) weeks from the date of non-selection.”
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported about a similar case where the Madras HC had granted relief to 66 doctors by allowing them to get admitted to super-speciality courses without completing their bond service requirements.
