[9/25, 14:31] Sekarreporter 1: Today 25.09.2020 rowdy Shankar Encounter at ayyanavaram Case came up for passing orders before Justice G K ilantharaiyan as item No.68. Petition filed by the Mother of Shankar praying for Re- Postmortem of Deceased Shankar’s body and Direction to transfer the case to CBCID. State was represented by Mr.A.Natarajan State Public Prosecutor and Mr.Sankar Subbu is counsel for the petitioner. Hon’ble Justice after accepting the arguements of the State Public Prosecutor had Dismissed the prayer seeking for Re-Postmortem and since already this matter was transfered to CBCID so the Hon’ble court directed the CBCID, Chennai to complete the investigation and to file the final report within 12 weeks.

During the argument Mr.A.Natarajan State Public Prosecutor stated that the based on the orders passed by the DGP, Head of Police Force- the above said case was already transferred to CBCID for further investigation. Regarding Re-Post mortem State Pp submitted that the date of occurrence was on 21.08.2020 and the said Shankar attacked the police with patta Knife and for protecting the life of police, police had shot Shankar. After the incident immediately the wounded police and Shankar was taken to KMC Hospital and Shankar was declared Dead in KMC Hospital. Inquest was Conducted by Learned Vth Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore all the statements of the relatives were obtained and all the guidelines were duly followed by the police. The post mortem was conducted by 2 qualified doctors under the supervision of Head of the Department of Forensics science, Kilpauk, Government medical Hospital along with the presence of learned V mentropolitan magistrate, Egmore and all the post mortem was properly videographed. State PP also submitted that the post mortem was conducted based on the guidelines issued by National Human Right Commission. State PP informed the court that the Said rowdy Shankar is having 53 Criminal Case (including murder cases) and he was detained under goondas for 9 times.
Hon’ble Justice G.K. Ilanthiraiyan had also called for a report from the Learned Vth Metropolitan Magistrate regarding the post mortem and based on the report submitted by the Learned Vth Metropolitan Magistrate and after an elaborate arguments made by A.Natarajan State Public Prosecutor and the Petitioner counsel, today the Hon’ble court dismissed the prayer of re-postmortem.
