[03/08, 07:25] Sekarreporter: I participated in a felicitation function hosted by our All India Senior Advocate Association (AISAA) to celebrate the appointment of four new judges to the Supreme Court, where I delivered a speech as its President.
In my speech, while congratulating the honorable judges on their appointments, I highlighted the importance of judicial diversity in the selection of judges for both the Supreme Court and the High Courts. I emphasized the necessity of establishing Regional Benches of the Supreme Court. This initiative would help preserve valuable judicial experience and facilitate access to justice for the common man. Additionally, it would alleviate the strain caused by long-standing vacancies and significantly reduce congestion in the Delhi courts. Furthermore, it would bring the Supreme Court closer to litigants across the country, thereby expediting their access to justice.
I also thanked the Secretary General of AISAA, Mr. Adish Agarwala, for organizing this event.
