[04/01, 12:56] Rangarajan Trichy: It may be true that 100+ MPs and MLAs may be surviving on Rs. 25000 pension.
And that is known to this author.
But what is known to the entire world out of 4900 elected MLAs and MPs, 17%± have declared assets less than 1Cr. And 1.6%± have assets less than 10L.
This is just the sitting MLAs and MPs.
India has seen 17 general elections (1952-2024) elected 9,200± MPs (543 seats x 17).
Apart from this India has seen 4,500± members elected/nominated since 1952
Approximately 200 elections across states/UTs since 1947, averaging 4,000 seats each (800,000± total seats).
So, conservative estimates place total unique elected representatives (MPs/MLAs) at 50,000±
100± is just about 0.2%±
So i don’t know what the author is wanting to say.
Will we see the reality full 90% are through less that 10%?!!
