I have written this piece because of how the ED uses media trials to shape public opinion long before facts are tested in court, and once suspicion becomes news, reversals rarely receive the same attention.

You see a pattern where leaks replace verification, where selective narratives travel faster than judicial scrutiny, and where the accused is tried nightly on television while due process struggles to keep pace.

When investigative agencies operate with vast power and the media amplifies claims without asking hard questions, accountability weakens and intimidation begins to look like governance.

This is not about defending individuals. It is about defending the rule of law, the responsibility of journalism, and the need for courts to draw clear limits before overreach becomes normalised.

If headlines can decide guilt, what role is left for evidence, rights, and democracy itself?
