CONDEMNATION MESSAGE 1. The Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry strongly condemn the untoward and disrespectful and deriding act committed by a lawyer against the office of the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India. The Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry is in deep anguish over the recent untoward incident of a lawyer hurling shoe at the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India during the judicial hours of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. The said act has deeply affected the majesty of the institution and has caused intolerable grief to the members of the Bar.

CONDEMNATION MESSAGE

1. The Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry strongly condemn the untoward and disrespectful and deriding act committed by a lawyer against the office of the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India. The Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry is in deep anguish over the recent untoward incident of a lawyer hurling shoe at the Hon’ble

Chief Justice of India during the judicial hours of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. The said act has deeply affected the majesty of the institution and has caused intolerable grief to the members of the Bar.

2. The Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry arrays its deepest anguish and strong condemnation over the said incident and we request the Members of the Bar to stand in solidarity with the judicial institution to uphold its majesty and the rule of law. The judicial institution is one of the pillars of a Democratic country and any insult towards such institution cannot be looked away and the same requires strong action against the disgruntled elements who had involved in such grave act.

3. The Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry pledges its solidarity towards the judicial institution and the office of the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India. The Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry reliably understands that the Bar Council of India has placed the disgruntled and unruly lawyer under immediate suspension and the said expeditious move by the Bar Council of India is highly appreciable and we thank the Bar Council of India for its expeditious action against the delinquent advocate who had tried to undermine the majesty of Judicial institution.

4. The Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry requests the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India to initiate appropriate action against the said lawyer to uphold the majesty of the Judicial Institution as the said untoward incident has caused much anguish and deep pain to the members of the Bar as the incident is not only an attack on the office of the Hon’ble Chief Justice, but an attack on the institution and the democracy itself.
