Subject: Action Taken Report Called for(ATR) -2603/22/0/2021.

Sir/Madam,

The complaint/intimation dated 14/09/2021, was placed before the Commission on 01/11/2021. Upon perusing the same, the Commission directed as follows:

The complainant, an Advocate of Supreme Court of India, has drawn attention of the Commission towards an incident dated 10.09.2021 wherein a 10 year old girl died and more than 30 people, a group of Hindu people, admitted in the Aarani Government Hospital, Thiruvannamalai District after consuming food served through the accused named in the complaint who runs a Seven Star Hotel. He has requested the Commission to issue suitable directions to the Central Government and all the State Governments to ensure quality of the food so that no hazardous food and eatables could be served in such Hotels.

Let a copy of the complaint be transmitted to the Secretary, Ministry of Food and Consumer Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi, the Chief Secretary, Government of Tamil Nadu and the DGP, Tamil Nadu, Chennai, through online mode, to take the needful action and submit an action taken report in the matter within six weeks.

2. Accordingly, I am forwarding herewith a copy of the complaint/intimation as an attachment for taking appropriate action in the matter as per the directions of the Commission. It is requested that an Action Taken Report be sent to the Commission within 6 weeks from the date of receipt of this letter.

3.
