[12/29, 20:16] Sekarreporter 1: [12/29, 20:08] Adv Suryaprakasam APS: a INA freedom fighter pension writ appeal filed by the central government against the single judge orderfreedom fighter widow Mrs. Lakshmi directing the government to sanction her came up before the first bench consisting of justice A.P.Shaw and justice Ibrahim kalifulla and the union government argued that the said Lakshmi who is a Tamilian and came to Chennai as repatriate and settled in Chennai wasborn in Burma and as such she cannot be considered as Indian citizen but the bench dismissed the writ appeal of the government and held that Lakshmi father was a citizen of crown ( then British empire) and as such children born to crown citizens are deemed to be Indian citizens and further directed the government to sanction her NIA pension immediately
