Of the five, four shall be in imprisonment till death.Ravikumar, 56, Suresh, 32, Abishek,23, and Palani, 40, have been sentenced to undergo imprisonment till death. While Rajasekar, 40, is sentenced to life with entitlement to be released prematurely.Erald Bross, 58, gets seven years of rigorous imprisonment, and the rest – Sugumaran, 65 , Murugesu,54, Paramasivam, 60, , Jayaganesh, 28 , Deenadayalan,50, Jayaraman, 26, Surya, 23, Raja, 30, and Umapathy, 42, have been sentenced to five years of rigorous imprisonment.The court convicted them on Saturday. On Monday afternoon, special judge RN Manjula pronounced the quantum of sentences.Gunasekaran, 55, a gardener, has been acquitted and another accused, Babu, 36, passed away during the trial.The crime which came to light on July 13, 2018 after the family of the victim — a Class VII girl — lodged a complaint with police.Based on the complaint, the Ayanavaramall-woman police arrested 17 men. Six of the 17 men were above 50 years who were working as plumbers, security guards and housekeepers in the apartment complex where the victim stayed with her parents.All the 17 had sexually assaulted her for more than seven months.
