ave one earnest request: please continue to wish me well, bless my journey, and most importantly point out my flaws whenever I commit one. It is only through your honest guidance that I can hope to do justice to this seat. Thank you for shaping who I am today, and for helping me uphold the faith placed in us. – Justice N Anand Venkatesh.
Eight years ago today, I walked into the historic corridors of the chartered Madras High Court to take my oath as a judge. It is a moment frozen in time, yet as I step into that courtroom and occupy the chair today, that very
same sense of profound reverence and a quiet, humbling fear fills my mind. It still feels like day one. There is still so much to learn, so much to do, and a long, sacred path ahead. If my journey into this responsibility began as a baby, today that baby has slightly matured, just stepping into its teens. But growth is never a solitary endeavor. I am acutely aware that I could not have taken even a single step forward without the constant guidance, wishes, and blessings of my elders and colleagues.
Today, I offer my deepest pranams to this great institution that I am privileged to serve. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to: My esteemed colleagues on the Bench, for their unwavering support and companionship. The beloved members of the Bar, whose intellect and dedication keep the wheels of justice turning. My family, who have stood by me as my rock and anchor. Society at large, which continues to repose immense faith and hope in our judiciary.
To all of you, I have one earnest request: please continue to wish me well, bless my journey, and most importantly point out my flaws whenever I commit one. It is only through your honest guidance that I can hope to do justice to this seat. Thank you for shaping who I am today, and for helping me uphold the faith placed in us. - Justice N Anand Venkatesh.
