Another 6,06792 registered construction workers who have not renewed with the board are going to be benefitted by Govt COVID 19 scheme of Ration and Rs 2000/- benefits which were already given to renewed constructionworkers.
The Madrurai HC Division Bench which heard the matter earlier accepted Mr P. Wilson contentions that till the construction workers registration is cancelled , merely non renewal will not mean that they are not registered workers. Therefore they are entitled for all COVID 19 reliefs similar to renewed registered workers. The Division Bench earlier accepted the contention and called for details of list of registered workers, renewed and non renewed workers. The matter came up yesterday and after recoding the details of non renewed registered workers filed by Welfare Board has posted the matter to 4.8.2020 for further hearing .
