[20/08, 13:53] Sekarreporter: Mettupalayam AIADMK MLA Selvaraj, 5 ADMK municipal councilors and few ADMK cadres had gone to the Mettupalayam municipal office to question the municipal commissioner regarding the street light problems. On the same day night, the Municipal commissioner had lodged a report with the police as if she was obstructed from performing her official duties. On receiving this report, Mettupalayam police registered FIR for the offences under Sec.294(b) 114, 353 IPC. MLA Selvaraj and others approached Madras High Court for quashing the FIR which was dismissed by the Madras High Court.
