[10/04, 13:00] sekarreporter1: #MadrasHighCourt Chief Justice’s Bench orders notice, returnable by April 17, to the Election Commission of India, on a petition filed by BJP advocate A. Mohandoss seeking an inquiry by the Election Commission of India against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s secretary P. Umanath, IAS for allegedly violating the model code of conduct by issuing administrative instructions to the district Collectors and police officers. The judges also allow a petition filed by the litigant to implead Mr. Umanath too as a respondent to the main case. ECI counsel Niranjan Rajagopal says the allegations have been levelled against an official who is in no way connected with election duty. However, the judges ask him to submit his reply on the next date of hearing. @THChennai
