YouTuber Mukhtar Ahmed has been arrested in connection with two criminal cases including the one booked for having indulged in character assassination by making sexually coloured remarks against a BJP functionary during an interview with DMK MP Tiruchi Siva’s son Tiruchi Suriyaa, State Public Prosecutor R. John Sathyan told Justice C. Kumarappan of #MadrasHighCourt today. The judge recorded the submission and closed two anticipatory bail petitions filed by the YouTuber. In one of his petition, the YouTuber had claimed that the police had intercepted him on a highway a few days ago and said that they were arresting him but later they released him on the instructions of some higher official who spoke to them on phone @THChennai

MadrasHighCourt Chief Justice’s Bench has granted two weeks’ time for State Public Prosecutor R. John Sathyan to take instructions from Tamil Nadu government as to how it intends to make appointments to the posts of Director, Deputy Directors and Assistant Directors of Prosecution. The time was granted after five prosecutors, appointed through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, filed a case insisting that those top posts in the directorate must be appointed only on the basis of seniority from among those serving as prosecutors in trial courts. @THChennai [10/06, 12:57] sekarreporter1:
