The Bench wants the governments to list out the number of Animal Birth Control (ABC) centres established by them, the number of veterinarians and other trained staff appointed so far, the frequency of sterilisation and vaccination programmes being conducted, steps taken for removal of stray dogs from institutional premises such as educational institutions, hospitals, parks and bus stands, the creation of helpline numbers to report dog bites and whether any mechanism had been put in place for adoption of stray dogs. Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari insists upon strict compliance of the Supreme Court orders and Justice G. - Justice L Victoria Gowri made the observations while allowing a petition filed by K Surya, a final-year B Tech student, who had accused Valliyoor all-women police station of harassing and compelling him to live with the woman. The woman told the court she became pregnant during a consensual relationship with the petitioner, who allegedly promised marriage but distanced himself later and refused to continue the relationship”
