[21/07, 13:13] Sekarreporter: Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Medical College in hospital.
We filed a civil suit before this honourable high court claiming that the defendant one S+ media limited who owns and operates the news channel by the name of New Tamil 24×7 has made defamatory allegations against the plaintiff which is baseless and untrue.
The matter was posted before the honourable justice Kumaresh Babu today as item number two. We were led by senior council Mr. Vijay Narayanan who was assisted by council Mr. Abhishek Dheenaselan.
The senior council pointed out that the various news clippings made by the defendants tried to connect the plaintiff’s name to an alleged kidney smuggling racket which was situated in and around the district of Namakkal.
We pointed out that these statements are completely untrue and that there is no direct connection between the plaintiff and the alleged organ trafficking.
The honorable judge was pleased to grant an order of interim injunction restraining the defendants from making any defamatory statements against the plaintiff.
Now the plaintiff is a reputed hospital and running a medical college in the area of Perambalur and Trichy and it also caters to the needs of various people from economically weaker sections.
The news clippings that have been made by the defendant are purposefully made in a way to malign the reputation of the plaintiff.
Furthermore, it will also cause panic in the minds of the general public who will be unwilling to come forward to perform such surgeries.
The plaintiff further states that all of the transplantations that have been performed by the plaintiff are ones which have been completely approved by the government of Tamil Nadu and the authorized committee which has overseen every single transplantation that had to be made and has approved each and every organ donation that the plaintiff has conducted so far.
The matter has been adjourned for the defendant to appear.
