Today freebies matter came up before Hon’ble SupremeCourt before a two judge bench comprising of Hon’ble CJI UU Lalith and Hon’ble justice BELA M. TRIVEDI .

Petitioner appearing in person (Ashwini upadaya ) referred to the committee suggested during last hearing by the Petitioner counsel and sought directions to appoint the said committee to scrutinise the election manifesto of all political parties during election time.
Mr P. Wilson Senior advocate submitted that there is no grave urgency in hearing this matter and that the Writ petition is politically motivated. He submitted that already for similar exercise the election commission has recently issued a letter to all Political parties inviting suggestions to amend clause 3 of model code of conduct 2015 and there is no reason as to why the petitioner is pressing for hearing simultaneously.
Mr Manindersingh appearing for ECI submitted that Election commission would abide by orders of Supreme court.
The Chief Justice then referred the earlier order and said that since two judge bench is sitting today, it can’t hear the matter and it will be posted before three judge bench and all parties can raise their submissions before them and directed to place before CJI.
