The Learned judges wanted to know about the contributions of seats to All India quota by states and all the counsels explained the same.
To a question as to how in reservations for OBC in TN will help TN students, Mr Wilson said the domicile option is given in application and TN candidates gives their preference to study in TN colleges. Option to go to other state is also available Mr Wilson added.
P. Wilson Senior Advoacte submitted that the committee is not constituted as per order of HC and the Director General of Health Service as well as Health Secretary TN Govt is not there in the said committee as directed by HC. Mr Wilson submitted that 50% reservation for OBC should be implemented in TN as it is state contributed seats. He said there is no obstacle to implement 50% OBC reservations this year itself in TN. When the justice L Nageswara Rao asked Mr P Wilson that the HC order of reservations for OBC in state surrendered seats in All india Quota will have all india impact, Mr Wilson said yes.
The learned judges then commented Mr P Wilson that “since you are Parliamentarian you want to protect the interests of OBC community whole of India”
Mr Giri Appearing for state government said this year itself OBC reservation has to be given in All India Quota .
The Learned judges then reserved the matter for orders and directed to file short arguments before next Tuesday to consider granting of interim order for this year.
