[11/09, 18:27] Sekarreporter: Today before The Special Bench WP 36022 -2023 challenging the GO 115 Dated 17.05.2022 filed by Podhu Deekshithar Representing Sri Sabanayagar Temple came up for hearing along with two other Writ Petition Nos. 11248, 30365 of 2023 filed by Devotees. On behalf of Podhu Deekshithars Senior counsel Sri C.S.Vaithiyanathan, Senior Advocate Sri Hari Shankar for G. Chandarasekhar and Varsha Chandrasekhar submitted that, since there is no positive response to the initiative of The Bench to resolve the issue amicably on behalf of the Podhu Deekshithars it was submitted that the Bench have to take up the case to be decided on merits on the validity of the above G.O. In response to above submission the Honorable Special Bench ask the Senior counsel what will be the response of the Deekshithars to the Kanagasabai Entry if the G.O is held invalid. In response to the specific question the senior counsel Sri C.S.Vaithiyanathan submitted in view of religious pooja and customary practice at Kanagasabai most of the Deekshithars are of the opinion that the Kanagasabai entry has to be only for performance of pooja and religious activities and further restrictive entry for Constitutional Functionaries and Higher Dignitaries having protocol can be considered for dharshan at Kanagasabai. The Bench permitted the Podhu Deekshithars to file a detailed affidavit in the above aspect and the case was adjourned to 09.10.2025. The Bench also recorded the objections filed by Podhu Deekshithars to the report of the HR&CE. The SGP appearing for HR&CE raised objection with regard to the above submission of the Podhu Deekshithars and the Bench asked to their objections will be also heard once the affidavit is filed by Podhu Deekshithars.
