The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA)under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Chief Justice of India and the Patron-in-Chief, NALSA Hon’ble Mr. Justice N.V. Ramana and Hon’ble Executive Chairman Hon’bleMr. Justice U.U. Lalit conceptualized a pan-India Awareness and Outreach Campaign which aims to spread awareness to the people living in the far-flung areas of the country from 2ndOctober, 2021 to 14th November, 2021. The 6-week long Campaign  launched in a National event at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 2nd October on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Also, this year India is celebrating 75th year of independence and is celebrating same as “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”. NALSA is also celebrating 25 years of its inception.

Hon’ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind had launched the
45-day long Campaign programme.   Hon’ble Chief Justice of India and the
Patron-in-Chief, NALSA, Hon’ble Minister of Law and Justice, Government of India, Hon’ble Executive Chairman, NALSA, Hon’ble Judges of Supreme Court and the High Courts and other esteemed dignitaries were participated in the programme.

 

 

 

In the State of Tamilnadu,  Tamil Nadu State Legal Services Authority has directed the Legal Services Institutions i.e., District Legal Services Authorities, Taluk Legal Services Committees  to cover the 8,429 Villages across the State by conducting various Legal Awareness Programmes.   The District Legal Services Authorities, Taluk Legal Services Committees are conducting programmes such as Door to Door campaign, Legal Awareness Camps in Villages and Mobile Van Campaign.

So far i.e., from 02/10/2021 to 16/10/2021  through Door to Door Campaign  1,542 Villages have been reached and 2024  Villages have been reached through 1,943 Legal Awareness Programmes and also 504 Villages visited through Mobile Van  and over all 2,66,502 peoples are  benefited through these programmes.
