Today in respect of the Pallikarnai Marshland case, which came before the Chief Justice Bench , Item no.41, since it didn’t reach. The AIADMK Legal wing Deputy Secretary S. Tamilselvam mentioned the Item no. 41 (Pallikarnai Marshland case) and appeared for the Petitioner side and asked the court to extend the interim stay order grant on 30.10.2025 till 12.11.2025. Immediately Chief Justice acknowledged the case, the gravity of the issue and extended the interim stay order and also expressed distress over not mentioning this matter earlier (since it is an important matter). Appearing for Respondent 6 (State Government) learned Senior counsel P. Wilson intervened and expressed the opinion that the Government took steps for protecting the marshland. Chief Justice intervened and said “your Government has provided dozens of approval” in the said Ramsar Marshland site. And after that Senior counsel P. Wilson tried to defend it and mentioned the case pending before the Hon’ble Supreme Court. The Chief Justice taking into consideration the same subject matter in the present issue being pending before the Hon’ble Supreme Court and tentatively it is to be listed on 2.12.2025. So, acknowledging the above Chief Justice posted the matter on 3.12.2015 with an interim stay order extended till the next hearing.
